Aldeas Infantiles SOS is a member of SOS Kinderdorf International, and works in accordance with its statutes and principles for education and child care
In El Salvador the organisation works with disadvantaged families in order to prevent crises that can lead to family separation and offers various forms of support to strengthen and stabilise families so that children can grow up in their own families.

In recent years the organisation has expanded its work with families through the Family Strengthening Programme promoting the development and empowerment of families and communities to provide protection and promote the integral development of their children. There are three centres and 25 community homes in the departments of Sonsonate, San Vicente and San Miguel.
