Help flood victims in Sanghar, Pakistan
Requested by
Indus Welfare AssociationWho are you trying to help? What issue are you trying to address?
The situation in Sanghar District, Pakistan, is very critical due to heavy rainfall since months. This rainfall has destroyed mud houses and huts and 90% of the crops are affected and livestock die everyday due to viral diseases. The human population is facing nutrition, hygiene and shelter problems. Different diseases such as malaria, diarrhea, flu and skin diseases are common.
Hundreds of families’ have fled from their home villages to seek protection. A very small number of families have access to housing and hygiene facilities and the number of families is increasing hour to hour.
Unfortunately the government departments such as the Local Administration or the Health and Education Department have still not taken any action for relief of the flood victims.
What is your project and how will it help?
The government, national and international organizations has so far ignored this area.
The current situation is that the IDPs (internally displaced person) survive thanks to volunteers within the local community, but they are selling their assets to do so.
